Samsa (baked pastries), shashlik (skewered meats), laghman (pulled noodles) and the tea house culture make Uzbekistan a genuinely rewarding food destination.

April–May and September–October offer the best weather for both Tashkent and the broader Uzbekistan itinerary. Summers are very hot; winters can be cold and grey.

Watch out for

Uzbekistan’s tourism infrastructure, while improving rapidly, is still developing. Some aspects of a visit — particularly in smaller cities — require more independent planning than mature tourist destinations. Check visa requirements for your nationality in advance.
